“PCHC is an invaluable partner in the work we do as a free clinic for people without any health insurance. Patients with no health insurance face many barriers to care. PCHC provides support, education, connection to resources, and advocacy for our patients, administration, and volunteers. They are always an email or phone call away.”
Eileen M. Andrews, Director, Penn Hills Office, Sheep Inc. Health Care Center
Member Benefits
Strength in Numbers: PCHC serves as the unified voice of Pennsylvania’s free and charitable healthcare providers. Our advocacy, funding, and communications priorities are driven by our members, allowing PCHC to tackle providers’ most pressing challenges while amplifying impact beyond what any one clinic can achieve alone.
Best Practices and Resource Sharing: PCHC acts as a convener to offer members a forum, including monthly Directors’ Calls, for sharing successful business models and best practices with other providers —allowing even those with limited capacity to assess and improve their own standards of practice.
Education and Information: PCHC keeps members up-to-date on new policies and regulations impacting their services; options to expand or improve patient care and well-being; resources to supplement medical care and address social determinants of health; information on nonprofit management, fundraising, and volunteer recruitment; and other topics requested by members.
Webinars and Conferences: PCHC also convenes regular webinars on key topics hosted by subject matter experts, in addition to hosting an annual conference for members that offers an array of educational and networking opportunities.
Member Discounts: PCHC negotiates partnerships with a number of external vendors, allowing us to offer discounts on vital supplies and services to our members. Members also receive discounted access to our annual conference.
Connecting Patients and Volunteers with Providers: PCHC’s website serves as a central hub for both patients and potential volunteers to find free and charitable providers in their area. We also support our members’ volunteer recruitment efforts, and manage targeted digital outreach to help direct new clinical and non-clinical volunteers their way.
